Mac Jones, Jaylen Waddle Declare For NFL Draft
4 years agoAlabama quarterback Mac Jones, wide receiver Jaylen Waddle, cornerback Patrick Surtain II and defensive end Christian Barmore announced on Thursday their intentions to forego their remaining collegiate eligibility and enter the 2021 NFL draft. Jones led the Crimson Tide to an undefeated season (13-0) while setting new single-season marks at Alabama in passing yards (4,500) and completion rate (77.4 percent). He showed excellent deep accuracy in his first year as the full-time starter, completing over 50 percent of his throws 20-plus yards down the field. Smith doesn't have the best mobility, but he's expected to be a late first- or early second-round selection in the upcoming NFL draft. Waddle exposes tacklers in the open field with his great lateral speed and is considered to be equally fast as former teammate Henry Ruggs III, who was a first-round pick in 2020.
