Luis Guanipa Activated, Assigned to Single-A Augusta
Luis Guanipa (hand) has been activated from the 7-day IL and is back with Single-A Augusta. The right-handed hitter from Venezuela got hit in the hand by a pitch just three games into the season and has been out of action ever since. The Braves' 13th-ranked prospect completed a six-game rehab assignment with the team's Florida Complex League affiliate, going 4-for-18 (.222) with a pair of doubles and a 5:6 BB:K. He was hitless in nine at-bats before the injury occurred earlier this year. With the injury behind him, hopefully he can take a step forward over the remainder of the season after slashing just .184/.250/.200 in 32 games at Single-A in 2024. At just 19 years old, though, he's a few years away from the majors, so there's plenty of time to develop.
