Lorenzo Cain To Get More Rehab At-Bats
3 years agoMilwaukee Brewers outfielder Lorenzo Cain (hamstring) played nine innings the other day with Triple-A Nashville, but manager Craig Counsell said that the plan remains for Cain to stockpile more at-bats on his rehab assignment. Cain is also 3-for-18 (.167) with six strikeouts so far on his minor league rehab assignment, so the Brewers are in no rush to bring him back. The 35-year-old veteran outfielder missed all of June with a hamstring strain, which is worrisome for fantasy managers, since most of Cain's value comes from his legs. The two-time All-Star is hitting just .223/.322/.350 with three home runs, nine RBI and four stolen bases in 118 plate appearances this year. Jackie Bradley Jr. has been starting against right-handers in center field, with Tyrone Taylor getting the nod in center on Tuesday against a southpaw.
