Logan Allen Called Up To Start Tuesday
1 year agoCleveland Guardians rookie left-hander Logan Allen has been called up from Triple-A Columbus to make the start on Tuesday against the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Indians rotation is really struggling due to injuries to Shane Bieber, Cal Quantrill and Triston McKenzie, so Allen will return from the minors to enter the starting rotation for Cleveland. The 24-year-old southpaw went 3-2 with a 3.47 ERA (3.72 FIP), 1.44 WHIP, 24 walks and 63 strikeouts in 62 1/3 innings over his first 12 major-league starts before being sent to the minors to work on some things several weeks ago. In five starts for Columbus, he allowed seven earned runs on 16 hits while walking nine and fanning 26 in 20 1/3 frames. Allen is definitely worth a waiver-wire pickup if he's available in deep-mixed leagues, and he's not a bad DFS streamer against the struggling Bucs on Tuesday.
