Lions, Jamaal Williams Have Mutual Interest In Reunion
2 years agoDetroit Lions general manager Brad Holmes said there is mutual interest between the team and impending free-agent running back Jamaal Williams in a reunion this offseason, and the two sides have had ongoing discussions. Williams will become an unrestricted free agent on March 15, and the Lions would like him back after he led the NFL with 17 rushing touchdowns in 2022. He also contributed a career-high 1,066 yards on 262 carries over 17 games in his second year in Detroit. The 27-year-old really stepped up for the Lions with D'Andre Swift missing more time with injury. There will be no shortage of suitors for Williams on the open market, and a return to Detroit in 2023 would be more bad news for Swift's falling fantasy stock.
