Laviska Shenault Jr. A Versatile And Physical Receiver
4 years agoJacksonville Jaguars rookie wide receiver Laviska Shenault Jr., taken 42nd overall in the second round of the draft, aligned out wide on 107 snaps, in the slot on 75 snaps and in the backfield on 27 snaps at Colorado last year, per Pro Football Focus. Shenault had the most yards after the catch (1,060) among Pac-12 receivers since 2018. His versatility and physicality on the football field give him a lot of upside in the NFL, but he's also coming off core muscle surgery, so it's unclear how healthy he'll be in training camp and the preseason. The 21-year-old figures to rotate in with Chris Conley in three-receiver sets in his rookie season. In a run-first offense with Gardner Minshew II at the helm, Shenault doesn't project for huge Year 1 production.
