Lance McCullers Jr. To Return To Rotation On Tuesday
4 years agoHouston Astros starting pitcher Lance McCullers Jr. (shoulder) will return to the Astros' rotation on Tuesday, according to Jake Kaplan of The Athletic. McCullers has been out since May 22 with shoulder inflammation, and Kaplan reports that the plan is for Jake Odorizzi to pitch behind McCullers on Tuesday, with the Astros turning to a six-man rotation afterwards. When healthy, McCullers has put up great numbers on the mound, going 3-1 with a 2.96 ERA and 59 strikeouts in 51 2/3 innings of work. Managers should probably hold off on putting him into the lineup for this first start back, but pencil him into the lineup going forward from that.
