Kliff Kingsbury Doesn't See Offense As Air Raid System
10 months agoWashington Commanders new offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury said this week that he doesn't envision the team being an Air Raid offensive system in 2024 under his supervision. Passing-game coordinator Brian Johnson feels the same. Kingsbury is known for his Air Raid system when he was the head coach at Texas Tech, but that didn't translate to his offenses when he was the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals. With Sam Howell at QB for Washington in 2023, the team threw the ball the third-most times in the NFL, behind only the Chiefs and Bengals, but they want to be more balanced as an offense under Kingsbury. It makes sense, as the Commanders are expected to be running with a rookie signal-caller this year.
