Ketel Marte Cleared For Rehab Assignment
3 years agoArizona Diamondbacks outfielder Ketel Marte (hamstring) will begin his minor league rehab assignment in the Arizona Complex League on Tuesday. Marte has been limited to side work in the last four weeks as he tries to return from a left hamstring strain, so his fantasy managers should be pretty happy that he's made the next step towards returning to the big leagues. The 27-year-old switch-hitter was an All-Star in 2019 when he hit a career-high 32 home runs, drove in 92 runs and stole 10 bases, and he also hit .287 in 45 games in the shortened 2020 season. Marte has five-category upside when he's right, so he should be rostered in all fantasy formats. Before his latest hamstring injury this year, he was slashing a robust .370/.419/.556 with four round-trippers, 21 RBI and one steal in 37 games played. Barring a setback, he should be back next month.
