Kadarius Toney, Richie James Will Play Against Lions
1 year agoKansas City Chiefs wide receivers Kadarius Toney (knee) and Richie James (knee) both practiced in full on Wednesday and have been cleared to play in Thursday night's regular season opener against the visiting Detroit Lions. Tight end Travis Kelce (knee) is questionable after hyperextending his knee in practice on Tuesday, so there could be more opportunity for the Chiefs receivers, although KC is expected to roll with Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Skyy Moore and Justin Watson in most three-wide sets to open the year. Toney's athleticism gives him plenty of fantasy upside in his first year in KC, but he'll have to be able to stay on the field and won't have an every-down role right away. Fantasy managers are best off looking in another direction than rolling with Toney or James in a flex spot in Week 1.
