Julio Rodriguez Picks Up Where He Left Off
1 year agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Julio Rodriguez returned to the lineup on Friday against the New York Mets after missing several games due to a nerve issue in his foot, but he picked up right where he left off after a fabulous month of August. Rodriguez went 2-for-4 with a double and a strikeout in the 2-1 loss in New York. The 22-year-old Dominican superstar is now hitting .288 (155-for-539) on the year with 24 home runs, 87 RBI, 35 stolen bases and 82 runs scored. He's currently riding an impressive 14-game hitting streak in which he's gone 34-for-66 (.515) with five home runs, seven doubles, 21 RBI, eight stolen bases and 13 runs scored in 71 plate appearances. J-Rod's performance in the last month is a big reason why the Mariners are now tied for the American League West lead with the Houston Astros.
