Josh Naylor Scratched With Wrist Soreness
2 years agoCleveland Guardians first baseman Josh Naylor (wrist) was scratched from the starting lineup on Thursday against the Minnesota Twins with wrist soreness after jamming it while diving into third base in Wednesday's game against the Baltimore Orioles. It's bad timing after Naylor went off Wednesday by going 4-for-5 with a home run, two doubles, six RBI and three runs scored in a 12-8 win. The 25-year-old left-handed hitter had a strong month of May, hitting .293 (24-for-82) with six doubles, five home runs and 25 RBI in 23 games to raise his season slash line to .251/.304/.443 with eight homers and 40 RBI. Hopefully this is just a day-to-day situation for Naylor and he's able to return to Cleveland's lineup this weekend. Josh Bell is the designated hitter and batting fifth, while Gabriel Arias is at first and hitting sixth against Twins right-hander Pablo Lopez on Thursday.
