Ottawa Senators defenseman Thomas Chabot (upper body) played only the first period in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime loss against the Dallas Stars. According to Senators head coach Travis Green, Chabot sustained an upper-body injury while reaching for the puck. Chabot must shake off the injury by Thursday to avoid missing his first game of the season. The former All-Star has kept himself busy in all areas of the game, recording 10 points (two goals, eight assists), 19 shots, 35 blocks, and 11 hits with a plus-six rating in 17 appearances. If Chabot has to sit out some action, Nikolas Matinpalo will likely be re-inserted into the lineup. Meanwhile, Jake Sanderson and Tyler Kleven are expected to see an increase in ice time.--Taavi Pailk
