Josh Bell Starting Against A Left-Hander
2 years agoSan Diego Padres first baseman Josh Bell is in the starting lineup as the designated hitter and is batting cleanup in Game 4 of the National League Championship Series on Saturday against the Philadelphia Phillies and left-hander Bailey Falter. Brandon Drury is at first base and batting sixth, with Wil Myers starting on the bench. Bell typically starts on the pine when the Padres face a southpaw, but Falter isn't expected to go more than a few innings, and Bell is also a switch-hitter. The 30-year-old has seven hits in his first 29 career postseason at-bats with two home runs, four RBI, three runs and 10 strikeouts. It hasn't been a great postseason by any means for Bell, but he does have four hits in his last six at-bats in two games with a homer and two RBI.
