Joseph Woll Set For First Start Of Season Monday
1 year agoToronto Maple Leafs goaltender Joseph Woll has been confirmed as the team's starter for Monday's matchup against Connor Bedard and the Blackhawks. It's going to be his first appearance of the season after Ilya Samsonov guarded the crease in both of the team's first two games. The Russian netminder has had a rough start to the campaign, giving up nine goals with a .839 save percentage, so Woll could have a chance to pick up some extra work if he does well Monday night. Woll showed himself as a reliable alternative between the pipes last term, going 6-1-0 with a 2.16 goals-against average and a .932 save percentage. He will face a team that has tallied only 2.33 goals per game early in the season.
