Jose Urena Signs With Dodgers
Jose Urena signed an undisclosed deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers and will be in L.A. on Tuesday night for the second game of a series against the visiting New York Mets, according to the New York Post's Jon Heyman. Although the Dodgers' starting rotation is beat up, Urena is expected to function in a long-relief role out of their bullpen. The 33-year-old veteran doesn't really warrant any attention in fantasy after allowing 10 earned runs on 19 hits (five homers) while walking four and striking out eight in 15 1/3 innings over seven appearances (two starts) with the Mets and Toronto Blue Jays already this year. Urena was much better with the Texas Rangers last year, posting a 3.80 ERA (4.62 FIP) and 1.32 WHIP with 70 strikeouts, 39 walks and a save in 109 frames over 33 outings (nine starts). He has a career 4.78 ERA and 1.40 WHIP in 11 big-league seasons.
