New York Mets right-handed pitching prospect Jonah Tong remained sharp on Sunday as he tossed five innings of one-run ball against Double-A Richmond. He allowed just two hits and no walks. He struck out five. Over his last 38 innings of work at Double-A, Tong has been one of the most dominant pitchers in the minor leagues. Over this stretch, Tong has struck out 58 batters while holding a stellar 1.18 ERA and a 0.74 WHIP. Through 59 1/3 total innings this season with Double-A Binghamton, Tong has posted an elite 1.97 ERA with a 0.98 WHIP. He has held a 96:29 K:BB and allowed just two long balls. The former seventh-round pick is currently considered the No. 99-ranked prospect in baseball on MLB.com.
