Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Johnny Field will get the start in right field and hit ninth Thursday. Field took over at that position when Carlos Gomez left the game Wednesday. The right-handed hitter went deep in Wednesday's game, hitting his fifth home run of the season. In 96 plate appearances, Field is hitting .269 and has two steals to go with his five bombs. Field has now been in the lineup for four straight days, having sat out the previous two. He does not have much value in shallow leagues because of the irregular playing time. However, in deeper leagues with daily lineup changes he can provide some valuable power without hurting teams with his average.--Ben Rolfe
