Jessie Bates Won't Be Available Thursday Night
3 years agoCincinnati Bengals free safety Jessie Bates (neck) has been ruled out for the Thursday night game against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 4. Cornerback Chidobe Awuzie (groin) is also doubtful, but cornerback Trae Waynes (hamstring) is set to make his debut after practicing in full the last two days. This will be the first game that Bates has missed after being a second-round pick in 2018. The 24-year-old is a weekly starting defensive back in IDP leagues and has 22 tackles (16 solo) in the first three games of the 2021 season. Despite not having Bates on Thursday night, the Bengals defense will remain a strong midrange starting fantasy unit against the winless Jaguars. Rookie first overall pick Trevor Lawrence has tossed seven interceptions in his first three NFL games.
