Jeff Wilson Jr. To Miss Start Of The Season
4 years agoSan Francisco 49ers running back Jeff Wilson Jr. (knee) recently had surgery to fix a torn meniscus, according to sources. Wilson is expected to be out for four to six months, which means that he will not be available for the start of the 2021 regular season. It's obviously bad news for Wilson, but the good news for the Niners is that they have some decent depth at the position with Raheem Mostert, Wayne Gallman, JaMycal Hasty and rookies Trey Sermon and Elijah Mitchell. Wilson finished the 2020 season strong, but he'll now likely go undrafted in most standard leagues. Mostert will be the running back to own in San Francisco, but head coach Kyle Shanahan loves his committees, so keep a close eye on how this backfield situation shakes out in training camp this summer.
