Jasson Dominguez Out After Having Tooth Pulled
New York Yankees outfielder Jasson Dominguez (mouth) is sitting out of the starting lineup on Tuesday at home against the visiting Chicago White Sox after he had a tooth pulled earlier in the day, according to MLB.com. With Dominguez starting on the bench, Jose Caballero will make the start in right field and will bat sixth against White Sox right-hander Davis Martin. The 23-year-old just came off the injured list over the weekend after recovering from a shoulder strain. The Dominican switch-hitter should be back in action on Wednesday, and he should be a regular for the Yankees now that he's recovered from his shoulder injury with Aaron Judge (ribs), Trent Grisham (hamstring), and Giancarlo Stanton (calf) all sidelined. Dominguez has yet to reach his full potential at the major-league level, but at least in the short term, he'll have the opportunity to do damage, making him a deep-league option. In only 11 games for the Yanks this year, Dominguez has gone 8-for-38 (.211) with two homers, three doubles, five RBI, five runs, two walks, and six strikeouts.
