4 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Jameson Taillon pitched two scoreless innings during his second spring appearance — and first start — on Saturday. He struck out four batters while throwing all of his pitches. His fastball sat around 92 mph and touched 93.6 mph. His heater averaged 95 mph prior to undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2019. Taillon didn't pitch in 2020 while recovering from the elbow injury and was acquired by the Yankees from the Pittsburgh Pirates during the offseason. With just 37.1 innings of experience since 2018, the club will no doubt bring him along slowly in 2021 so he may not fully benefit fantasy owners until next year but he remains an interesting sleeper for the coming season.--Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
