New York Jets safety Jamal Adams is skipping the team's virtual offseason program, but head coach Adam Gase didn't sound too worried and said "this is voluntary" when asked about Adams skipping the program. This doesn't come as a surprise at all with Adams seeking a new contract heading into the final season of his rookie deal. The Jets are in no rush, however, as they can exercise Adam's fifth-year option for 2021 and could place the franchise tag on him for 2022 if they desire. But Adams is an All-Pro and has become one of the most dynamic safeties in the league. He wants to be the highest-paid safety in the league when all is said and done.
