The Arizona Diamondbacks placed left-hander Jalen Beeks (back) on the 15-day injured list on Friday, retroactive to July 8, with inflammation in his lower back. The team activated right-hander Kendall Graveman (hip) from the 15-day IL to take Beeks' roster spot. If he's healthy by the end of the month, Beeks could wind up in another uniform by the July 31 trade deadline. The soon-to-be free agent is a logical trade chip for an Arizona team that's three games below .500 and could elect to sell. Beeks has recorded a 4.39 ERA with 39 strikeouts, 15 walks, and 11 holds in 41 innings. He may garner attention from contenders in serious need of bullpen help.--Connor Byrne
