Jackson Holliday Records Pinch-Hit, Three-Run Double To Give Baltimore The Win
4 months agoBaltimore Orioles second baseman Jackson Holliday hit a pinch-hit, three run double in the sixth inning during the Orioles 3-2 win over the Houston Astros on Saturday. The three-run double ended up being a game-winning hit for the rookie who now has a .572 OPS on the season. While Holliday's rookie season has not gone the way he would have liked it, this result in a high-stress scenario is a great sign for the 20-year-old. Saturday marked just the second game in August that Holliday has not been in the Orioles lineup, likely a combo of giving the rookie rest and avoiding a left-on-left matchup against Astros starter Framber Valdez. With the Astros starting left-hander Yusei Kikuchi on Sunday, there is a chance Holliday may be held out of the lineup until Monday when the Orioles travel to LA and face off against struggling Dodgers' starter Walker Buehler.
