J.P. Feyereisen Dealing With Biceps Tendinitis
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays manager Kevin Cash said that relief pitcher J.P. Feyereisen's (biceps) MRI exam didn't reveal any structural damage, and he appears to be dealing with biceps tendinitis. Feyereisen will rest for a few days and then start working his way back, but he will be out for longer than 10 days. The 28-year-old right-hander has been solid for the Rays this year after coming over from Milwaukee in the Willy Adames trade. He's 4-3 with a 2.81 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, 38 strikeouts and three saves in 41 2/3 relief innings. Fantasy managers in deeper leagues in need of saves should consider stashing him, as he's earned more high-leverage innings in Tampa's 'pen the rest of the way. Pete Fairbanks has recorded a hold and two saves in the last week, but Diego Castillo remains in the mix as well and has 13 saves, a 2.88 ERA and a career-high 12.3 K/9 in 34 1/3 innings.
