Israel Abanikanda 2023 Outlook: May Struggle To See Field
2 years agoNew York Jets rookie running back Israel Abanikanda joins a loaded backfield containing Breece Hall, Michael Carter, and Zonovan Knight. While he was productive at Pitt last season, totaling 1,431 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns, the 20-year-old may be buried on a talented depth chart. Hall is expected to carry the load despite coming off of a torn ACL, and Carter and Knight did well in relief of Hall last season. While it is a young and loaded depth chart, Abanikanda offers a level of explosiveness that Carter and Knight do not. He is an excellent dynasty stash, but should be avoided in redraft leagues as the opportunity may not be there in his rookie season.
