Ian Anderson Strikes Out Nine Batters
4 years agoAtlanta Braves starter Ian Anderson overpowered the Minnesota Twins on Friday. The rookie hurler struck out nine batters and allowed two runs in 4.2 innings of work. Anderson's command hasn't been perfect this spring and he's allowed 11 hits over 9.2 innings but his K-BB is an eye-opening 18-3. Anderson posted a 1.95 ERA and 30% strikeout rate in six MLB starts in 2020. His curveball has reportedly improved since last season. The 22-year-old will help the Atlanta Braves boast one of the better starting rotations in the National League once Mike Soroka is healthy. Anderson is ranked by Rotoballer as the top rookie pitcher for the 2021 season.
