Hunter Greene Gets Clean MRI Results
Hunter Greene (groin) was shut down before his scheduled start in Triple-A on Tuesday and underwent an MRI on Monday that came back clean. Manager Terry Francona said, "We're really pleased with it. He's still feeling it at times." The team is still planning on taking it easy with Greene even after the clean results to allow him time to recover and build back confidence in the injury. The good news for Greene and his fantasy managers is that he isn't dealing with a more serious issue, but the disappointing news is that there is still no clear-cut timeline for him to get back on the mound. He was hopeful to get back before the All-Star break, but now it looks like the end of the month is the best-case scenario, with August being the more likely target for a return. Greene has been on the shelf since June 4 due to a Grade 1 right groin strain after a strong start to the season.
