Gregg Williams Wants To Keep Jamal Adams Around
4 years agoNew York Jets defensive coordinator Gregg Williams doesn't want All-Pro safety Jamal Adams going anywhere after he asked for a trade. “He has to handle his contract,” Williams said. “He’ll do all that kind of stuff… I’m hoping everything goes well. I love coaching him. And I got his back.” Adams was tied for the team lead in tackles for loss (10, pass deflections (seven), quarterback hits (13) and forced fumbles (two) last season under Williams. He also finished first in solo tackles (61) and second in total tackles (75) and sacks (6.5) despite missing two games. The 24-year-old is one of the best safeties in the game already and should be considered the top IDP safety for fantasy owners because of his ability to play in coverage, stop the run, play as a linebacker and rush the passer. The Jets would be losing their best defender if they end up trading him.
