Giancarlo Stanton Could Skip A Rehab Assignment
5 months agoNew York Yankees outfielder/designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton (hamstring) could be ready to return from the 10-day injured list shortly after next week's All-Star break and may return without going on a minor-league rehab assignment, according to manager Aaron Boone. Apparently Stanton has been recovering nicely from a left-hamstring strain that landed him on the IL and he's been doing baseball activities. Even if the 34-year-old right-handed slugger skips a rehab assignment, he's probably going to need to at least face some sort of live pitching before the Yankees throw him back into their big-league lineup. Since he's been out, Aaron Judge has been serving as the team's DH, which has given Trent Grisham more playing time in center field. Stanton continues to display high-end power when healthy, slugging 18 homers and driving in 45 in 69 games played in 2024. Keep him stashed everywhere.
