Frankie Montas Turns In Gem Friday
7 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Frankie Montas had another excellent outing on Friday in a 16-0 rout of the Royals. The 25-year-old tossed eight scoreless innings on seven hits and no walks with two strikeouts. Montas has looked great through his first two starts this season, posting a minuscule 0.64 ERA with two walks and nine strikeouts in 14 innings pitched. While the low strikeout numbers are a bit concerning considering how hard Montas throws, there has been little to complain about through his first two performances. The A's have not announced when Montas will start next, but if he stays in the rotation he would face the Royals again in his next matchup, an opportunity that fantasy players should look to take advantage of.
