4 years agoThe Atlanta Falcons picked up wide receiver Calvin Ridley's $11.1 million fifth-year option for the 2022 season on Monday. This comes as no surprise, as he's been excellent for the Falcons since entering the league as a first-rounder in 2018. The 26-year-old is a great route-runner and has a nose for the end zone. If Atlanta were to trade veteran Julio Jones, Ridley would become the team's unquestioned No. 1 receiver. Ridley had a true breakout season in his third year in the NFL in 2020, hauling in 90 passes for 1,374 yards and nine touchdowns. If Jones remains in the fold, both he and Ridley will continue to form one of the better receiving tandems in the league for quarterback Matt Ryan.
