While his wunderkind teammate Carson Hocevar is currently stealing most of the headlines for Legacy Motor Club, Erik Jones perseveres despite having a slower car than he did last year. Jones finished between 8th and 11th at every non-drafting superspeedway from Nashville to Darlington unexpectedly culminated in a 3rd-place finish at Kansas, easily the team's best finish since losing full factory backing from Chevrolet. The addition of Hocevar seems to have energized both Legacy cars and Jones qualified 12th for tomorrow's Texas race, his best qualifying run in 19 races. Additionally, Jones has earned top ten finishes in seven of the last nine Texas races and has his best average finish at this track.
