Emmanuel Clase Collects Save No. 4 On Saturday
8 months agoCleveland Guardians right-hander Emmanuel Clase allowed one hit while striking out two over a scoreless inning to earn the save in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Minnesota Twins. Clase entered Saturday's game during the ninth inning to protect a two-run lead. He got two quick outs before allowing a two-out single to Twins shortstop Carlos Correa. The 26-year-old shook off the two-out hit by striking out Alex Kirilloff to the end game. He is 4-for-4 in save chances and has not allowed a run this season. Clase is off to a hot start as Cleveland's primary closer and will look to rack up his third straight 40-save campaign in 2024.
