Eloy Jimenez Thinks He'll Start In Game 1
4 years agoChicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez (foot) thinks he'll start in Game 1 of the wild-card series against the A's on Tuesday despite missing last weekend with a mid-foot sprain. Jimenez did some sprints, took part in batting practice and went through throwing and fielding drills on Monday and feels much improved. The 23-year-old could serve as the designated hitter, which would mean that either James McCann or Yasmani Grandal wouldn't be in the lineup. Jimenez hit .296/.332/.559 with 14 home runs and 41 RBI in 55 games during the regular season, but he'll have a tough matchup in left-hander Jesus Luzardo if he's in the starting lineup on Tuesday for Game 1.
