Eli White Strikes Out Four Times
4 years agoTexas Rangers utility player Eli White struck out four times in as many at-bats on Sunday. He was also playing first base for the first time this spring while the club attempted to increase his versatility with an eye towards carrying him on the 26-man roster. Predominantly an outfielder, he has also seen a little time at shortstop and second base. This spring, White is 7-for-25 (.280) with a homer and two stolen bases. White appeared in 19 MLB games in 2020 and hit just .188. His emergence this spring, if he can competently handle first base, could spell doom for Nate Lowe's hopes of opening the year with the club as Ronald Guzman appears to have the handle on the everyday first base gig.
