Eagles Restructure Javon Hargrave's Contract
4 years agoThe Philadelphia Eagles restructured defensive tackle Javon Hargrave's deal on Thursday to free up $9.408 million in salary cap space. With the move, the Eagles are down to around $18 million in salary cap debt ahead of the new league year. Hargrave signed a three-year, $39 million deal last year in free agency, and the 28-year-old is expected to be a long-term piece for the team's defense. Hargrave was injured in training camp last summer and started off the season slow, but he picked things up in the second half and finished strong. He recorded 38 tackles, 4.5 sacks and eight QB hits and will be working under new defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon and defensive line coach Tracy Rocker in 2021.
