Dylan Carlson Begins Rehab Assignment With Two Hits
Dylan Carlson (thumb) began his minor league rehab assignment with Triple-A Memphis on Friday night by going 2-for-3 with a run scored. Carlson started the game in center field and played eight innings in the contest. He's been out of the Cardinals lineup since early September with a left thumb sprain, but he's getting closer to a return to the big leagues, and he could be activated from the injured list early next week. The 23-year-old should return to an everyday role in St. Louis' lineup when the team deems he's ready to return. In 383 at-bats this year, Carlson has hit .240/.316/.386 with eight home runs, 39 RBI, 48 runs scored and five stolen bases across 112 games in his third big-league season.
