Don Martindale Resigns As Giants Defensive Coordinator
11 months agoNew York Giants defensive coordinator Don "Wink" Martindale resigned from his position on Monday. Martindale will be coveted and won't be out of work for long. His top two assistants, Drew and Kevin Wilkins, are expected to follow him wherever he lands. Martindale has interviewed for head-coaching jobs in the past and could get more looks this offseason with many teams expected to have head-coaching openings. The Giants defense wasn't particularly good under Martindale in 2023 in his second year in the position with the team. They finished the year with 23.9 points per game allowed (seventh-most in the NFL) and also allowed the fourth-most rushing yards per game (132.4) and the sixth-most total yards per game (361.7).
