The Los Angeles Dodgers selected Huntington Beach High School outfielder Jake Vogel with the 100th overall pick in the third round in the 2020 MLB draft on Thursday. The Blue proceeded to take Virginia Tech catcher Carson Taylor in the fourth round (130th overall) and Central Arkansas pitcher Gavin Stone in the fifth round (159th overall). Vogel was one of the fastest players in this year's draft class, and he also has a strong, compact and simple swing that should allow him to hit at the next level. He was committed to UCLA. Taylor has great bat speed as a switch-hitting catcher with raw power and good command of the zone. His defense behind the plate needs work, however, meaning he could move to left field or first base. Stone is a right-hander without a true plus pitch, but he locates his changeup and breaking ball well and has above-average control of his pitches.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
