Diontae Johnson Building Chemistry With Kenny Pickett
1 year agoPittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson, who disappointed in 2022 in the first season without Ben Roethlisberger at quarterback, thinks having stability and a working relationship with second-year QB Kenny Pickett will be a big advantage as he looks to bounce back in 2023. "Repetition is for real," Johnson said. The 26-year-old had more of a rapport with Mitch Trubisky early on last year, seeing double-digit targets in each of the first three games. But Johnson only had double-digit targets five more times on the year, including another game Trubisky started. It sounds like Johnson and Pickett should be more comfortable with each other this year, which gives fantasy managers hope that Johnson will rebound after failing to find paydirt on 86 receptions and 882 yards in 2022.
