Demario Douglas A Lock To Make Final Roster?
1 year agoPatriots.com's Evan Lazar writes that he's about ready to call New England Patriots rookie wide receiver Demario Douglas a lock for the final roster heading into Week 1 of the regular season. Douglas has proven to be a dynamic route-runner who also brings a level of quickness and burst that the other receivers on the team don't have. His preseason usage to this point suggests the Patriots know they have something special. Meanwhile, Kayshon Boutte has displayed strong hands and good body control in camp practices, but he's lacked burst and separation quickness on film and in the preseason opener last week. Douglas, a 22-year-old sixth-rounder, will be buried on the receiver depth chart behind JuJu Smith-Schuster, DeVante Parker, Kendrick Bourne and Tyquan Thornton if he makes the team, so he won't be worth looking at in standard-sized fantasy leagues to begin the season.
