Daulton Varsho Week-to-Week With Grade 1 Hamstring Strain
Daulton Varsho (hamstring) is on the 10-day injured list with a Grade 1 left-hamstring strain, according to manager John Schneider, and he's being evaluated on a week-to-week basis. MLB.com's Keegan Matheson writes that we'll see a lot of Nathan Lukes and Myles Straw in center field for the Jays with Varsho out, and Schneider wants to see that group, as well as Alan Roden and Jonatan Clase, step up with Varsho sidelined. The 28-year-old Varsho got a late start to the year after having offseason shoulder surgery, and now he's back on the injured list again. He hit just .207 (19-for-92) after a late season debut, but it was encouraging to see Varsho hit eight home runs in his first 24 games after hitting 18 in 136 contests a year ago. He's not a lock to return when eligible on June 11, but Varsho should be stashed in all fantasy formats while he recovers.
