Daniel Jones Bulking Up
4 years agoNew York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones is bulking up in preparation for his first full season as the Giants starter under center. Jones, who stands at 6-foot-5, weighed 220 pounds as a rookie, but he's now closer to 230 pounds after hitting the weights hard this offseason. The second-year signal-caller wanted to put on a little weight while also maintaining his agility on the field. "He really put some work in to make sure he’s a professional athlete and he’s taking care of his body. He’s doing all the right things," trainer Anthony Boone said. There were some ups and downs for the 23-year-old last year when he took over for Eli Manning, but he clearly showed promising upside in his rookie year and could take a big Year 2 leap in a loaded offense if he can cut back on his fumbling issues. Consistency will be key. Take Jones as a high-end QB2 with upside.
