Dan Campbell The Favorite For Lions Head-Coaching Gig
4 years agoNew Orleans Saints assistant head coach/tight ends coach Dan Campbell has emerged as the favorite to be the new Detroit Lions head coach, according to sources. However, the Lions can't conduct an in-person interview with Campbell until the Saints season has officially ended, so their pursuit of him is on hold until then. The Saints face the division-rival Buccaneers in the Divisional Round of the postseason this Sunday. When Campbell was with the Miami Dolphins, he served as the team's interim head coach. The Lions officially hired former Los Angeles Rams executive Brad Holmes as their new executive vice president/general manager on Thursday. They were also expected to interview Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive coordinator Todd Bowley for their head-coach position on Friday, but the two sides decided to cancel.
