Curtis Blaydes' three-fight winning streak came to an end at UFC Vegas 71 on Saturday after he suffered a first-round TKO loss to Sergei Pavlovich. The two heavyweights came out swinging heavy leather from the get-go, but it was Pavlovich that had the clear speed advantage. Blaydes did land some good strikes from range, but Pavlovich's power was just different. Pavlovich initially hurt Blaydes with an overhand right that dropped him. Then he closed in for more. He wobbled Blaydes with a jab and followed with an uppercut and big combination that dropped Blaydes. Pavlovich landed a few more punches before the referee stepped in. In 3:08 of action, Blaydes landed 14 significant strikes. If Blaydes had won, he might have been the next in line for the title shot.--Alen Kurbasic - RotoBaller
