Cornerback A Position Of Need For Saints
4 years agoNew Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton said this week that cornerback is a position that the team must address between now and the start of the 2021 season. The Saints lost defensive linemen Trey Hendrickson and Sheldon Rankins this offseason, but the departure of cornerback Janoris Jenkins might've been the most significant defensive loss. Jenkins was released as the team tried to get under the salary cap. Across Pro Bowler Marshon Lattimore, the team currently has Patrick Robinson, Grant Haley and Keith Washington -- the latter two have not started a game for the Saints. New Orleans had been linked to veteran Richard Sherman in March, but there has been no movement on that front. The Saints will likely use one or several of their eight draft picks next week on a young cornerback.
