Chris Taylor To Play SS 20-25 Percent Of The Time
2 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers shortstop Miguel Rojas will be the team's primary shortstop after the season-ending injury to Gavin Lux (knee), but the Dodgers are planning to rotate Chris Taylor in from the outfield to play the 6 about 20-25 percent of the time in 2023, according to manager Dave Roberts. Taylor played the position regularly until an elbow injury limited him to outfield duties in 2022. On days he's not at shortstop, he'll be playing either left or center field. The 32-year-old will regain shortstop eligibility, which will help his cause for a bounce-back campaign this year. A first-time All-Star in 2021, Taylor disappointed last year with a .221/.304/.373 slash line with a .677 OPS, 10 home runs, 43 RBI, 45 runs scored and 10 stolen bases in 118 games for the Blue.
