Chris Sale Shut Down For A Week With Flexor Strain
5 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Chris Sale (elbow) has been diagnosed with a flexor strain in his left arm and will be shut down from throwing for a week. It was reported on Wednesday night that Sale isn't expected to need Tommy John surgery, which is a huge relief for those that already drafted him as their fantasy ace despite his arm issues and a down season in 2019. However, this doesn't mean he's out of the woods yet, and Sale is still an extremely risky high-end fantasy starter at his average ADP of 35.6. If you roll the dice and select him in the early rounds, you'd better stock up on some extra arms in case things go south. As everything stands now, it might be optimistic to expect the left-hander to make his season debut in April.
